First of all the purpose of me putting up my training log is not to show

First of all the purpose of me putting up my training log is not to show-off that I can run alot of miles, or to be criticized for not running enough (although input as to others methods of training are appreciated).  I am just doing this becuase I have read some of the really good runners training logs, and I really enjoy reading them.  I suppose that I am not a model to follow, since I am a medeocre at BEST runner, but I think some will like to read it anyways, and besides, it will help keep me honest.

 

 

May 13th - 6.5 miles

Ran 45 easy, got one last meet this weekend and then I can start the summer training.

 

May 6th - May 12th

nothing special, just junk miles really, we had conference and I ran a 33:06 and a 15:46, so not a bad weekend.

Week - 50.5 miles 6 runs
May 5th - 0 miles

Took the day off

May 4th - 7.5 miles

6 x 400 in 63, 62, 62, 63, 63, 62, with a 3 mile warm up and 3 mile cool down.

May 3rd - 7 miles

47 with Doug, Nate, AC, Skov, and DK.  It was an easy run, but my legs are still feeling a little tired.

May 2nd - 8.5 miles

Ran for 55 min with a bunch of guys.

May 1st - 10.5 miles p.m.

Ran 6 x 1000 with 2 minutes rest, except on the last one where I got one minute.  Ran 3:15, 3:16, 3:11, 3:09, 3:06, 3:00, then ran 2 x 200 in 28.  Got a 3 mile warm up and cool down.  The workout was pretty easy, and I was running good times, I think I am ready to really run a good race.

April 30th - 6.5 miles p.m.

Ran easy with AC, Nate, Matt and DK.  Took us like 45 minutes.

April 29th - 11 miles p.m.

Ran an easy 35:10 out (maybe 6:30 pace) then ran the same thing back in 31:15.  11 may be a little high, but since I figure most everything else out at 7:00 pace I think I can over estimate a 400 here and there.

 

The Weeks of April 15th - April 28th

pretty unclear about my milage, I got in about 60 or so each week.  Ran a few mediocre races.

 

Week - 33.1 miles in 5 runs
April 14th - 0 miles
April 13th - 5.1 miles p.m.

2 mile warm up, 15:44 5k, not too bad a time.  My knee is really bothering me

April 12th - 6 miles a.m.

Meet tomarrow, easy six in the morn

April 11th - 6 miles

This was pretty dissapointing, me, nate and AC thought this would be about nine, but true to nates course mapping skills it turned out short

April 10th - 8 miles

Three mile warm up, 4x800, 2:33, 2:27,2:27,2:31, it was pretty windy, but I didnt really feel better from yesterday

April 9th - 0 miles

Got a pretty bad case of the flu and couldnt run

April 8th - 8 miles

Two mile warm up, 4x mile with 2 min recovery, 5:09, 5:06, 5:04, 5:04, had a side cramp for the last two.  Two mile cool down

Week - 61.5 miles in 8 runs

April 7th - 0 miles

thought I should take it easy on my knee, I think it is an old injury, so I know how to treat it

April 6th - 8 miles a.m.

Three to the high school, 8x400 in about 64 with 3 min rest, then 3 home.  My knee felt better

April 5th - 10 miles p.m.

10 with matt, doug, jed, adam and little lando.  My knee was hurting pretty bad during the run and all that night

April 4th - 9.5 miles p.m.

Nothing special, just an easy 9.5

April 3rd - 6 miles p.m., 6 miles p.p.m.

Ran over to the high school to do my 1200's, but I hadnt eaten in like 8 hours, and just couldnt do it.  Just ran back, but later on about 9:30 I got the urge to do a little more so I went out and ran another 6 at about 5:45 pace, felt really good

April 2nd - 4 miles a.m., 7 miles p.m.

I was planning on going farther at nite, but I had to crap pretty bad, and I couldnt make it any farther.  Stomach has been bothering me alot on runs latley, probobly becuase of increased milage.  Both runs were pretty easy, maybe a little under 7 min pace

April 1st - 11 miles p.m.

It sucks to wake up in the morning and get to class and already be four miles behind for the week.  I wanted to get a ton of miles in this week, but I have a ton of homework, we shall see.  Ran with Adam, Doug and Jeff today, went easy on the first half and brought it back under 6 min pace, felt good.

 

Week - 66 miles in 8 runs
March 31st  - 8 miles a.m.
Had to get up early today to run, just ran an easy run.  Got hissed at by a gopher, and when I was running away from it I tripped in it's hole, that kinda sucked, otherwise uneventful
March 30th - 14 miles a.m./p.m.
Went to Purdue yet again. Got a two mile cool down, ran the 10K in 33:38 or so, then got an easy six mile cool down in.  I have tons of room to improve in the 10K.
March 29th - 7 miles p.m.
Went to the Purdue meet and found out it was cancled, kinda pissed about that but there was nothing I could do about it.  When I got back I just got an easy 7 in 48 min, my weekly milage is all screwed up, I will see what I can do about that tomarrow....
March 28th - 4 miles a.m., 4 miles p.m.
Ran an easy 4 both times in the morning with Skovi, alone at night went cornfield on both, my shin is hurting, it will go away in a couple days.
March 27th - 8.5 miles p.m.
Got a 3.5 warm up and cool down with doug, ran 3x800 with 2 min rest, 2:28, 2:26, 2:27.  It was really easy, but I have a meet in two days.
March 26th - 9.5 miles p.m.
Me and Skovi just ran together, wasnt too hard, about and 1 hour with a two mile pick up at 5:40 pace in the middle.
March 25th - 11 miles p.m.
3.5 mile warm up, five mile tempo run at 5:30 to 5:35 pace, with a 5:22 last mile, felt really easy and was all by myself.  Cooled down for 2.5, had to crap on the warm up and cool down.

Week - 72.5 miles in 8 runs

March 24th - 8.5 miles p.m
Ran an easy 8.5 with my man Doug, my legs were starting to hurt after all the miles I have been putting in.
March 23rd - 13 miles a.m.
Did an long run with Adam, Doug and Matt.  Felt good for the first 1:15, then I got really dizzy and felt terrible.  Didn't eat much the night before, and nothing the morning of, I tink I just ran out of gas.
March 22nd - 7 miles p.m.
Got in 2.5 warm up then did 8x200 continuous in 28, 28, 29, 27, 31, 32, 31, 31.  On the last four I shortened the rest, got in 4.5 cool down with Adam and Jeff.
March 21st - 10 miles p.m.
Nothing special, just 10.
March 20th - 11 miles p.m.
Three mile warm up, then 10x400m with 3 min rest.  The first four were 65-66, then 67, 67, 66, 66.  It was pretty hard, lost focus on the 67's, but ran well on the last two all alone.  Ran a medium paced mile after in 5:22, didnt feel all that hard, but it wasnt easy either.  2.5 mile cool down, ran in between the
400's to get the rest of the mileage.
March 19th - 4 miles a.m., 7 p.m.
Just what it says, nothing great.  Was going pretty easy on both.
March 18th - 11 miles p.m.
Back at school.  3.5 mile warm up, 4xMile, 4:55, 4:56, 4:53, 4:48 (course was about 10 seconds fast),
3.5 mile cool down.


Week - 51 Miles, 6 runs

March 17th - 0 miles
Wasn't feeling well, should have got a few in at least though, feel like a big baby.
March 16th - 13 miles a.m.
Ran with Andy (North Central Runner) on a 13 miler.  We are both idiots and can't control ourselfs when we run together so we ended up running about 6:05 pace for this, it hurt pretty bad.
March 15th - 7.5 miles p.m.
Me and Jeff (Jacobs) ran a workout together, and by together I mean he started 10 seconds behind me on each one and then pounded me into the ground.  2x400-66,67 (course = 2 sec. slow), 4x800 2:28, 2:36, 2:26, 2:28, then a mile in 5:18.  Everytime I run with Jeff my workouts are bad becuase he kills me all week.
March 14th - 8.5 miles p.m.
Did this at easy pace for running with Jeff, so that means at 5:55 pace.
March 13th - 10 miles p.m.
Ran a pretty hard ten miles with Jeff and Karl (both olympic trials qualifiers).  Ran it in about 58 min, with a 5:20 last mile, it was a really good run.
March 12th - 5 miles p.m.
I had a stupid dentist appointment that screwed my whole day up (probobly becuase I slept through it and then had to go in later) so I only got in 5 by myself.
March 11th - 7 miles p.m.
Ran easy with Nate, have to get a root canal in a little bit.

Week Before got in 70 or 75.
